Our Founding

In 1965, Harlan, John, and Julian Peeples purchased Brown Funeral Home in downtown Chatsworth. Julian and John graduated from mortuary school, and all three became licensed funeral directors. Peeples Funeral Home was the headquarters of an ambulance service for many years and has been the leading provider of funeral services in Murray County since its establishment. In the 1970s, John and his wife, Frances Shields Peeples, took full control of the business.
