Mr. William "Doug" Mitchell, of Ranger, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home.

Doug was a member of the Chatsworth Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Mitchell, and mother, Dessie Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Celia "Sue" Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Stacy Mitchell of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Misty and Jerry Gowin of Ranger, GA, and Kim Hallman of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard "Rickey" and Neda Mitchell of Rocky Face, GA, and Thomas and Anita Mitchell of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Keena Dover, Kinley Brown, Kelsey Pitts, Mallory Mitchell, William Gowin, and Cody Gowin; great-grandchildren, Mady Dover, Caroline Dover, and Stratton Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation services were provided by Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chatsworth Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
