Thomas "Gene" Eugene Bryant

Mr. Thomas "Gene" Eugene Bryant, age 82, of Crandall, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Ridgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation.

Gene was born and raised in Murray County, in the area known as Little Murray. He learned to drive a truck while helping his dad on the family farm and went on to enjoy a 60-year career as a truck driver. He proudly received a plaque for one million miles of safe driving. Gene cherished his family, including special Christmas Eve trips to Florida with his boys. He was a member of Little Conasauga Baptist Church and the American Trucking Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Winston Bryant and Mildred Lucille Bryant; his brother, James Edwin Bryant; and his sister, Brenda Gail Brock.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Parker Bryant of Crandall, GA; his sons and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Terri Bryant of Cleveland, TN, Dustin Bryant of Crandall, GA, and Avery Bryant of Crandall, GA; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and J.T. Bigge of Clanton, AL and Linda and Wilfird Deverell of Crandall, GA; his grandchildren, Taylor Bryant (Rachel), Ashlynne McAmis (Blake), Ashley Anne Boatright (Andrew), Morgan Bryant, Abby Bryant, Ethan Bryant, and Mia Bryant; his great-grandchildren, Maddox Boatright, Ryleigh Boatright, Jaxon Bryant, and Sawyer Bryant; and his special friends, Raymond Alligood, David and Angel Stafford, Glen Wilson, and Jeremy Collins; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Thomas "Gene" Eugene Bryant will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Little Conasauga Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Thomas "Gene" Eugene Bryant.
