Mrs. Shirley Elaine Howard, age 80, of Resaca, GA, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank James Couch; parents, Archie and Essie Gaines; brother, James Gaines; sisters, Linda Wagnon, Sara Beth Gallman, and Peggy Jo Gaines; late husband, Calvin Andrew Howard.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Jeremy Shane Couch and Timothy Bryan Couch; sister, Gennive Lowery; grandchildren, Dakota Lee Garrett Couch and Jeremy Kyler Couch; great-grandchildren, Jase Jennings, Garrett Couch, Kodi Couch, Kylynn Couch, and Kylah Couch; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Elaine Howard will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Timms and Rev. Frank Bramblett officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00am until 2:00pm.
