Mrs. Sherrie Jean Johnson, age 71, of Chatsworth, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at her home.

Sherrie worked in the textile industry, starting at Ludlow Mills in 1972. She continued her career at West Point Pepperell, which then became Shaw Industries where she would retire in June of 2019. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard where she would feed and watch her hummingbirds.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alton Berkley Collie; mother, Jean Locke Burns; husband, Glenn Eldon Johnson.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Shawn Nance and Carrie Clayton of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Tim Bradley of Calhoun, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Celine Collie of Pensacola, FL and Robert and Lori Burns of Calhoun, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Diane and Jerry Findley of Royston, GA and Tammy Burns of Calhoun, GA; grandson, Houston Nance; special friend, Johnny Burgess of Cohutta, GA; many nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sherrie Jean Johnson will be held on Sunday, May, 5, 2024 from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Burns officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
