Mr. Richard Hammontree, age 85, of Chatsworth passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Ridgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Frank C. Hammontree Sr.; mother, Iva Lee Sloan Hammontree; and brother-in-law, George Miller.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Branam Hammontree; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Susanna Hammontree of Acworth; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Ray Parrott of Tunnel Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law, J. L. and Wilma Hammontree of Cohutta and Frank Jr. and Mary Hammontree of Cohutta; sister, Charlene Miller; stepchildren; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Hammontree will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Branam officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
