Mr. Ray Evans, wonderful husband, stepfather, brother, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2022.

Ray was loved by all and will always be known as a wonderful person. He spent his time dealing with tools and cars. He greatly loved to read.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Imogene Evans; brothers, David Evans and Boyd Evans; grandparents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary Margaret Evans; stepdaughter, Mary (Mark) Hammontree; stepsons, Ronnie (Tammy) Kile and Tim (Rende) Kile; brother, sister-in-law, and wonderful friend, Roger and Phyllis Thurman; brothers, sisters, and sisters-in-law, Helen and Donny Headrick of Rocky Face, GA, Lyzette Evans of Primm Springs, TN, Mary and Ronnie Ware of Mineral Bluff, GA, Dena and Charlie Helton of Lafayette, GA, Paula Clifton and Jimmy Harrison of Dalton, GA, Fred and Marie Evans of Rocky Face, GA, Joyce Evans Bryson of Dalton, GA, Clayton Sam Evans of Chatsworth, Clay and Lisa Evans of Dalton, GA, and Lois Evans of Rocky Face, GA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ray Evans will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Brother Bruce Headrick officiating. Interment will follow at Eton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
