Obituary

Paul Long, age 67, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2026.

Paul was a devoted husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, loyalty, and an unwavering love for his family. A lifelong truck driver and heavy equipment operator, Paul took tremendous pride in his work and genuinely loved what he did. He believed in earning an honest living, helping others when they needed it, and providing for the people he loved.

While Paul was known for his incredible work ethic, those who knew him best knew that his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a loving father and a proud grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Of all the titles he carried throughout his life, none meant more to him than "Pawpaw." Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, sharing stories, offering advice, and creating memories with those he loved most.

Paul was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He was dependable, generous, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He believed in treating people right, working hard, and standing by the people he cared about. In a world where true blue-collar work ethic is becoming increasingly rare, Paul represented the very best of it.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Long; his parents, Hardin and Coral Long; and two precious children whom he never had the opportunity to meet in this life.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Reagan Long; his daughters, Heather Long, Kelly Cooper and husband Billy Cooper, Lydia Chandler and partner Clay Atkson, LeeAnn Bridges and husband David Bridges, and Tabatha Hickey; his cherished grandchildren, Sophie Thomas, Denise Cooper, Gardner Bridges, Evangeline Bridges, and Runa Atkson; along with numerous extended family members, lifelong friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, Paul's legacy of hard work, selflessness, and devotion to family will live on through the generations he helped shape and the countless memories he leaves behind.

A private family viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth, Georgia.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m.

The family is especially grateful that Paul's longtime friend and mentor, Frankie, will be officiating the service and helping celebrate the life of a man he knew, respected, and loved for many years. Their friendship was one that Paul deeply valued, and there is comfort in knowing that someone who knew him so well will help share his story and honor his memory.

Paul will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and especially in the lives of the grandchildren who were the light of his world.
