Nancy Jane
Smith
Nov 4, 1936 — May 4, 2025
Chatsworth
Nancy Jane Smith, of Chatsworth, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 4th. She was exactly 88 and ½ years old.
Nancy lived in several states and two countries before moving in with her daughter Dalene and her husband, Jack. Prior to that, she had lived at Linwood Place in Chatsworth.
She was born Nancy Jane Alsip in Williamsburg, Kentucky, on November 4th, 1936. She began her dedicated walk with Jesus around the age of nine. It was often said, "Whatever she did, she did it well!" Nancy helped establish nine churches in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area. Alongside her husband, Rev. Dale Smith, she faithfully witnessed for Jesus in the streets and in people's homes.
Some of her many activities included leading a Christian girls' club while living in Etowah, Tennessee. She raised four children in the wisdom and admonition of her Lord. For several years, she served as a missionary in Morelia, Mexico, and later as a pastor's wife in Mableton, Georgia. She also spent several months in Bulgaria helping her children reach out to orphans and share Christ in cities and villages where they served as evangelists and teachers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert and Hannah Alsip, of Cincinnati, Ohio; her brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Dolores Alsip, also of Cincinnati; and her sister, Marilyn Land, of San Diego, California.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Noles, and her husband, Anthony, of Chatsworth; her son, Ron Smith, and his wife, Michelle, of Chatsworth; her daughter, Dalene Boykin, and her husband, Jack, of Chatsworth; her son, Paul Smith, and his wife, Sarah, of Brentwood, Tennessee; and her son-in-law, Robin Silvers, of Crandall, Georgia.
Her grandchildren include Sarah Bowman and her husband, Kirk, of Dalton; Jonathan Silvers, of Dalton; Katie Smith, of Chatsworth; Brody, Colin, and Ruby Smith, all of Brentwood, Tennessee; Joelle Norris and her husband, Landon, of Dalton, Georgia; Rachel Keith and her husband, Korey, of Indiana; and Rose Cintora and her husband, Juan, of Etowah, Tennessee: Jonah Boykin of Tennessee.
Her great-grandchildren include Beckett and Benjamin Bowman; Torin Norris; Tolkein, Declan, Asher, and Konrad Keith; and Myles and Braelyn Cintora.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Al Land, of San Diego, California; and her nephew, Chris Smith, also of San Diego, California.
Nancy is also survived by her spiritual family at Faith Worship Center of Chatsworth, Georgia, and Church on the Hill of Dalton, Georgia.
Your encouragement through prayers, calls, texts, and cards is deeply appreciated.
Nancy would want you to place your life in Jesus' hands today. Prepare yourself for eternity, just as she did. Jesus is coming soon, as He said in Revelation 22:12.
