Nell passed from this life on March 18, 2024, at age 96 in Timonium, Maryland.  Nell and her twin brother, Bert, were born to Rossie Elizabeth (Beavers) and Noel Frank Fouts in Murray County, Georgia on December 28, 1927.

Nell and Grover C. Terry, both from Murray County, were married on November 15, 1945.  They were married for 69 years before his death in 2015.

Nell is survived by children, Roxanne Terry, Lee Terry, Beth Terry, Jane Phillips, and Martha Codrick; six grandchildren, Courtney, Lyndie, Sandra, Amanda, Jamie, and Jordana; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Richard "Dick" Fouts, Leonard Fouts, Myrtice Hubbard, Bert Fouts, Claud Fouts, Thomas "Buddy" Fouts, Neal Fouts, and Regina Land.

Nell graduated from Shapiro Nursing School of Detroit, Michigan in 1972.  She worked in Transplant Step-Down Units at both Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan and at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. She loved being a nurse.

Nell was a Detroit Tigers baseball fan and enjoyed going to games. After she and Grover moved to Tennessee, she became an avid fan of the Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball Team.  After retiring, Nell and Grover traveled to the 48 contiguous states, often bringing along their grandchildren.  Her family and friends enjoyed her homemade desserts, especially German Chocolate Cake, Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake, and Orange Rolls.

Funeral services for Nell will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Bro. Larry McDuffee officiating. Interment will follow at Hassler Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the funeral begins at 1:00 pm.
