Mrs. Marjorie Henderson Tankersley, age 92, a lifelong resident of Murray County, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in the Chatsworth Health Care Center.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Arlene and Marvin Grimm of Decatur, AL, Kristi Tankersley and Leta and Bruce Alton all of Chatsworth, grandchildren Ben (Katy) Grimm of Birmingham, Al, Amelia (Todd) Roberts of Decatur, AL, Charles (Nancy) Grimm of Canton, GA, and Laura Alton of Chatsworth, Great-Grandchildren Margaret, Baylor and Elliott Grimm, Kendall and Landon Ledlow, Hampton and Hudson Roberts, and Audrey and Joshua Grimm. Sisters Rachel Brock of Varnell and Joyce Silvers of Chatsworth, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She is now reunited with her husband of 59 years, Ray Tankersley, her parents, Earl and Lena Henderson, and her brother, Marcus 'Mark' Henderson.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, January 13 from 6-8 pm.  A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, January 14 at 2 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral home with the Reverends James Nix, Lamar Beason and Bobby Souther officiating.  Mrs. Tankersley will be laid to rest next to her husband in the cemetery at Cool Springs Baptist Church.
