Mrs. Lucy "Lu" Hess, age 101, of Chatsworth, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her home.

She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. Ms. Hess loved her family, loved singing gospel music, and enjoyed life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleaverd A. Hess; parents, Charles M. Scott and Bessie Mae Scott; brothers, Charles Ray Scott and Harold Gene Scott; sons, Gary C. Hess and Emory S. Hess.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Spencer Hall of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Jennifer and Wesley Arnold, Suzanne and Keith Peterson, and Amanda Hess; great-grandchildren, Mary Hess Pruett, Karoline James, Anna Kate Arnold, James Arnold, Renlee Hess, and Jack Pruett.

Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lucy "Lu" Hess will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Walker, Rev. Andrew Bowen, and Rev. Wade Owens officiating. Entombment will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
