Lester Thomas Hill

Mr. Lester Thomas Hill, age 82, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at his home.

Lester Thomas Hill was a hardworking, determined man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for life. He had a lifelong love for horses, farming, and music, especially playing his guitar. A talented athlete in his younger years, he was proud to have been part of the 1962 Murray County state championship basketball team. Above all, he loved his family, who meant the world to him. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his many accomplishments, his love for those closest to him, and the lasting memories he leaves behind. His legacy will live on through the family he loved and the lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Elizabeth Hill; his parents, Howard and Cecil Ledford Hill; his maternal grandparents, Fannie Mae and Tom Ledford; his paternal grandparents, Bessie and Oscar Hill; and his granddaughter, Breyanna Hill.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carla Hill of Resaca, GA; his daughters and son-in-law, Angela Nixon of Pensacola, FL, and Susan and Rick Leveille of Marietta, GA; his brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Shirley Hill of Chatsworth, GA; his grandchildren, Maria and Brandon Kimmerling, Jennifer and Adam Jones, Tyler and Kaila Nixon, Jordan Hill, R.J. Leveille, and Ryan Leveille; his great-grandchildren, Brinley Kimmerling, Emily Jones, Reese Jones, Chloe Hill, and Walker Hill; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Sandy Layman, and their children, Tiffiany (Billy) Rubano, and Drew Layman; special daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Chadwick, and their children, Jenna Chadwick and Jake Chadwick; and his special friend and caregiver, Sarah Smith; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Lester Thomas Hill will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
