Mr. Leon William Henson, age 90, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mattie Lou Ghorley Henson; his daughter, Sheila Self; his parents, James "Jim" and Lily Mae Teems Henson; and his siblings, Vera Henson, James Henson, and Susie Davis.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Toney and Cynthia Henson of Byhalia, MS; his daughter and son-in-law, Tabatha and Bill Tucker of Dalton, GA; his brothers and sister-in-law, Harold Henson of Chatsworth, Jerry Henson of Ringgold, GA, and Mickey and Doris Henson of Ellijay, GA; his sisters, Sylvia Totherow of Ellijay, GA and Marjorie Howell of Canton, GA; his grandchildren, Shane and Alicia Self, Adam and Trisha Henson, Josh and Kendra Henson, Casey and Juliana Henson, Hank and Jada Henson, Katherine Henson, Chris Arnold, Selina Lively, Steven Burns, Glenn Burns, Shaun and Tambra Tucker, Gayle Rogers, Matthew Doritty, Logan Tucker, and Marlen Ponce; his great-grandchildren, Tameka Henson, Brooke Henson, Gage Henson, Emmy Henson, Bodhi Henson, Marlee Henson, Carli Rogers, Ethan Rogers, Michael Tucker, Ella Tucker, John Tucker, and Brooklyn Lively; his loving neighbors and special caregiver also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Leon William Henson will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Mr. Mark Henson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Liberty Cemetery in Dalton, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
