Mr. Larry Gerald Winkler, age 67, of Crandall, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at his residence.

Larry's favorite thing to do was running his sawmill, pushing down trees, and working on equipment. He loved spending time with his grandson Cash and watching YouTube. Customers at his shop loved hearing his stories and his contagious laugh. Larry was a body/frame mechanic for over 20 years and ran his business working on and aligning vehicles for another 20 years. Racing dirt track cars with his son, remodeling houses with his daughter, and clearing trees with his son-in-law were all things he loved. Most of all, he loved his wife of nearly 50 years and his family. His mother, brothers, and family were his world.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Winkler; grandparents, Tony and Billie Blassingame and Joe and Essie Winkler.

Survivors include his loving wife, Connie Melinda Young Winkler of Crandall, GA; son, Matthew Winkler of Crandall, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Jeff Nixon of Crandall, GA; mother, Rosetta Winkler of Chatsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bryan and Rose Winkler of Chatsworth and Gary and Sharon Winkler of Waxahachie, TX; grandchildren, Cash Winkler and Avery Nixon; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Larry Gerald Winkler will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Vince Goble officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
