Mr. Johnny Lee Wade, age 73 of Chatsworth, GA, peacefully departed this life on October 22, 2022 at his residence surrounded by family.

Johnny will be remembered by all for his generous spirit, kind heart, and quick wit. He led with a smile when he entered a room and by the time he left, ensured that everyone else was smiling too. He enjoyed cooking for the holidays, sharing meals at restaurants, telling tales (true or not), and probably most of all, bragging on his beloved nephews.

Johnny graduated with honors from Murray County High School in 1968 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga in 1972. He began his career working for Sim's Warehouse, Inc and Pinson's Airfreight, Inc before becoming the owner and general manager of "The Happening," the first drive-through package store in Murray County. In the 1980s and 90s, Johnny served as an Employment Specialist for Cheerhaven in Dalton where he directed work activities for mentally and developmentally disabled adults. And right up until his passing, he worked as an Associate Real Estate Broker, first with Peach Realty in Chatsworth, then with Exit Realty in Eton, where he helped countless clients, mentored other agents, achieved Lifetime Membership in the Million Dollar Club, and was eventually inducted into the Carpet Capital Association of Realtors Hall of Fame.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Bessie Mae Wade and Henry Franklin Wade; his parents, Boyd Wade and Rosella Wade; a brother, Richard Randy Wade; and a sister, Elizabeth Rose Dean.

Survivors include his nephew Gabriel Jason Dean and wife Jessica Dean and their three children, Wilder, Theadora, and Hendrix, all of Allentown, Pennsylvania; his nephew Justin Allen Wade and his fiancée Savanna Glover, both of Chatsworth; sister-in-law Ellen "Tissy" McCloud of Chatsworth; and brother-in-law William E. Dean, Jr. of Plainville.

Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the cremation and all arrangements for Mr. Wade.

A Celebration of Life service will be held there in the chapel on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 5:00pm. Prior to the service, the family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM in the chapel.
