John R. Garner

Mr. John R. Garner, age 62, of Dalton passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center.

John loved praising the Lord and enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry "Bud" and Frances "Sally" Garner; brother, Lamar Garner; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernest and Geralene Tallent.

Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Tallent Garner of Dalton; daughter, Tammy Ann Garner; brother, Michael Garner of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and James Henry of Ringgold; grandchildren, Dylan Rich and Zackery Striker; special cousin, Candy Kerr; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. John R. Garner will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Jones and Rev. Bobby Green officiating. Interment will follow at Center Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
