Mr. John Bagley, age 66, of Chatsworth, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Oakview Skilled Nursing Facility.

John was very active with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief as well as the Murray County School System's archery teams. John was passionate about mission work in Honduras. He spent many years serving in the Chatsworth Fire Department as well as the chaplain to the Chatsworth Fire Department and AdventHealth Murray Hospital. John pastored several local churches over the last 40 years where he impacted the lives of many in the church as well as those outside of the church. He had a heart to serve others and always asked, "What can I do for you?". John had a joyful spirit and was known for always having a smile on his face. Above all things, John was a very devoted man, especially to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Arlene Bagley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Tammy Bagley of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Caleb and Amber Bagley of Rabun, GA, Matt and Eva Bagley of Jasper, GA, and Josh Bagley of North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Haley and Chris Mays of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Joey and Lisa Bagley of Varnell, GA; sister, Debora Bagley Parker of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Gracyn Bagley, Rhett Bagley, Hudson Bagley, Adalyn Bagley, Liam Mays, and Natalie Mays; aunt, Virginia Stinson; extended family also survives.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oakview Skilled Nursing Facility for taking such good care of John.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. John Bagley will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Noel Caldwell, Judge Jim Wilbanks, and Pastor Robert Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
