Mr. James Lamar Mealer, age 80 of Crandall, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at AdventHealth Murray.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Boneta Mealer; parents, James Linzie Mealer and Lela Cook Mealer; brother and sisters-in-law, Johnston Grady Mealer, Joyce Mealer, and Pauline Mealer; sister and brother-in-law, Marcel and Ralph Powers.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Reba Mealer of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Darryl Freeman of Chatsworth and Kim and Michael Brieden of Hitchcock, TX; grandchildren, Haden Mealer Costello and Matt Costello, Jayson Mealer, and Asa Brieden; great-grandchildren, Charlotte (Charlee) Mae Costello and Miles Costello.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Mealer will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Bobby Bowers and Rev. Tim Powers officiating. Interment will follow from the Dewberry Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
