Mr. George "Larry" Baxter, age 77, of Summerville, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Floyd Medical Center.

Larry was born on April 17, 1946, in Bradley County, TN, to George William Baxter and Ruby Jewell Quarles Baxter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his special cousins, Ann and Charles Cline of Cartersville, GA.

Throughout his lifetime, Larry loved the outdoors, fishing with his father, and going on vacations to the beach, Disney World, Universal Studios, Gatlinburg, and the Atlanta Zoo and Aquarium with Ann and Charles. He also enjoyed doing arts and crafts.

Larry attended Liberty Church in Adairsville, GA. He loved the old gospel music and often attended choir practice there. His two favorite songs were "I'll Fly Away" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."

He worked at Woodright Industries in Cartersville for several years. He attended the day program at Bridge Health.

Larry enjoyed watching TV, and among his favorite shows were "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Gunsmoke." His favorite foods were cheeseburgers and chocolate.

He was cared for and loved beyond measure by his caretakers at Daily Care of Summerville, his roommates, and by the staff at Bridge Health.

Larry will be remembered for his love of naps and belly laughs and for the joy that he brought to those around him. Larry will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Green officiating. The staff at Daily Care of Summerville will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.

Visitors are welcome prior to the service on Monday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
