Mr. Fredrick Lonnie Dunn, age 79, of Chatsworth passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Lonnie served for many years in the Murray County Tax Assessor's Office and as the county manager. After retirement, he spent most of his time working on the family farm. He was a man of many hobbies, which included gunsmithing, knife making, and working on antique tractors, and he was a collector of anything old. Lonnie was very creative and was always tinkering on different projects. He had a "man cave" long before they were popular.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth "Tarver" Moore Sr.; mother, Annie Lee Moore; and son-in-law, Marion Reed.

Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Peggy Dunn of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Araceli Dunn of Lawrenceville, GA; daughters, Yvonne Reed of Chatsworth and Yvette Dunn of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ellen Moore of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Nikki Satterfield (Caleb), John Reed (Kensli), Ali Collins (Brett), and Adam Reed; great-grandchildren, Gabbie Collins, John Hunter, Drew, Jaxson, Lilly, Preston, and Jagger Reed; brother-in-law, Thomas "Tommy" Kendrick Jr.; sisters-in-law, Helen Strickland (Richard) and Karen Davenport (Junior); special caregivers, Nixton Darville, Annette Weaver, and Pashen Love; and canine companion, Abby.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Sarah Polow and Tapestry Hospice, especially to Haley and Kayla.

Funeral services for Lonnie will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Fairy Valley Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Murray County Relay for Life, American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1691, Chatsworth, GA 30705.
