May 10, 1945 — Dec 21, 2022
Chatsworth
Eugene "Butch" Pride Jones, age 77, of Chatsworth, GA passed away at Tennova Healthcare Center in the loving care of his wife and three children on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Brenda Hibbett Jones; his children, Adam Jones (Laurie), William Hibbett (Michelle), Christina Eubanks (Kevin), grandchildren Kevin, Jordan, Asa, Kristopher, Elijah, Olivia, Finley, and his great-granddaughter Kehlani.
Butch was born in Nashville, Tennessee May 10, 1945, to the late Louise Pride Jones and husband Paul Pearson. Louise later remarried to the late Cecil Jones, and Butch was lovingly adopted into the Jones family, which eventually grew to include five siblings; Chip, Harriet "Shug", Jincy, Ronnie and Allen. In his youth, Butch enjoyed hunting and fishing with his siblings. His interests later shifted to sports cars and he owned many classics over the years: a Pontiac GTO, a powerful Corvette Stingray, a Datsun 280z, a Trans Am and others… He cherished those experiences and shared stories about them often. Butch served in the National Guard in the early 60s. In 1976, his best friend Steve introduced him to the love of his life Brenda; they married the next year. The growing family moved to their home on Douglas Ave in Nashville and Adam was born a couple of years later. Butch supported the family with various jobs including trucking, stage-hand and later started a career in computer software programming and management. He worked at AT&T and was eventually offered a promotion to relocate to Georgia. The family moved to Cumming, GA in 1991 and Butch retained his position until retirement in 2011. In 2006, Butch and Brenda moved to Chatsworth, GA to be closer to family and to enjoy slow country living. His recent interests included riding his tractor, reading westerns, NASCAR and football. Butch was a gentle, generous, loving and caring man. He had great wisdom and always had a story or an experience to share. He was a dedicated husband, father and adoring grandfather who will be missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth, GA, has been entrusted with the arrangements for Eugene "Butch" Pride Jones.
