On Saturday, April 4, 2026, our sweet Debbie went to be with her Lord and Savior. Debbie was a member of Holly Creek Baptist Church for 38 years. She was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. Despite the many hardships and challenges she faced over the past 25 years, her trust in God never faltered.

Although much of her life was spent in a wheelchair and hospital bed, Debbie remained a joyful and positive presence. She was a true vessel of Christ, faithfully sharing her testimony and the Word of God whenever the opportunity arose. She often said the hospital was her mission field, and she embraced every chance to share her story and the love of God with others.

If Debbie knew you, she loved you—and she prayed for you without ceasing. She was a strong woman of faith, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a cherished friend. Debbie touched countless lives with her kindness, strength, and enduring spirit, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Rodgers; her parents, Mary Louise Rich and Bill Rich; and her grandparents, S.L. and Dollie Pauline Rich, James Loye, and Mary Lou Hammons.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Keri Leigh Downey-Weeks and Darren Weeks of Chatsworth; her stepchildren, Brandy and Allen Rodgers of Ellijay, GA and Kylan Rodgers of Ringgold, GA; her stepmother, Sandy Rich of Chatsworth; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Morrison Murphy; her sister, Connie Rich of Chatsworth; her stepbrother and his spouse, Marc and Maria Headrick of Lookout Mountain, GA; her grandchildren, Gracyn Isabella Weeks, Kaden Rodgers, Heaven Sweat, Harmony Sweat, Trevor Hawkins, Bryson Overby, and Layla Eodgers; her nephew, Nick Rich (Tiffany); her special and devoted friends, Mary Ann Mize, Reba Mealer, Hope Goodnight, and Greg Scott; many great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Debbie Rich Rodgers will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
