Mr. Billy Callahan, Sr., age 89, of Chatsworth, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home.

Billy loved dirt track racing, fishing, and lawn care.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Freeman and Susie Callahan; his sons, Greg Callahan and Rickey Callahan; his brothers, James Callahan and Jackie Callahan; and his sister and brother-in-law, Horace and Geraldine Strickland.

Survivors include his loving wife, Ellen Callahan of Chatsworth; his sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Becky Callahan of Chatsworth, Orville and Jodi Stuckey of Dalton, GA, Terry and Kim Callahan of Chatsworth, Jackie Callahan of Chatsworth, and Kathy Callahan of Chatsworth; his daughters and son-in-law, Denise Hayes of Chatsworth and Sherry Hayes and David Baggett of Chatsworth; his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Rachel Callahan of Chatsworth; his grandchildren, Kirsten and Drew Larson, Kati and Drew Howren, Cameron Callahan, Kasha and Nathaniel Johnson, Brandon Bowen, Stephanie Butler, Wyatt Stuckey, Nick Woods, Kenley Woods, Kayden Stuckey, Gabe Stuckey, and Gregg and Bridget Davis; his great-grandchildren, Rylee Howren, Caroline Laster, Alexis White, Austin Baggett, Dakota Davis, Hunter Davis, Rylee Davis, Jayden Davis, Keira Callahan, Deklen Johnson, Luke Bowen, and Paisley Bowen; special friends, Danny Beavers, Eddie Davis, Leon Scott, and Bill Akins; several other special great-grandchildren; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Billy Callahan, Sr. will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Place Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
