Mrs. Betty Jean Smith, age 79, of Rocky Face, GA, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Betty was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Smith; granddaughter, Natosha Sutton; grandson Marion Eugene Cash, Jr, parents Curtis and Jessie Rainey, Sisters Alice Kelley, and Wanda Thomas.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Pam Kelley of Resaca, Joey and Sarah Smith of Dalton, and James and Cathy Smith of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and David Brackett of Dalton, Bernice Cash of Rocky Face, and Becky Kelley of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Steve Studdard of Hephzibah; grandchildren, Wayne Kelley (Kristi), Candis Adams (Jimmy), April Kelley, Christal Green (Lewis), Robert Sutton, Amber Cobb (Wesley), Brett Cash (Tasia), Dustin Howren, Drew Howren (Kati Lowery), Daniel Smith (Hayley), Laci Smith, Autumn Smith, and Courtney Evett; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Kelley, Adam Kelley, Payton Kelley, Noah Kelley, Jacob Kelley, Allyssa Olszanowski (Sean), Devin Adams, Daron Newport, Sheryl Jeffress (Bryson), Micah Daniels, Samantha Green, Langston Green, Anthony Sutton, Jonah Rosario, Ella Cash, Kylie Cash, Jade Ballew, and Madelyn Ballew, great great-grandchildren nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Jean Smith will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Mark Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Eton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
