Bettie Helen Tallent

Mrs. Bettie Helen Tilley Tallent, age 82, of Dalton, GA (formerly of Vonore, TN), passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Bettie loved to scrapbook and make jewelry for her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Howard Tilley and Esther Mae Millsaps Tilley; her loving husband of 45 years, Marvin Hood Tallent; her sister, Reba Nell Hicks; her brother, Michael Eugene Tilley; and her special niece, Sheyla Lynn Kirkland.

Survivors include her sons, Marvin Christopher “Chris” Tallent of Dalton, GA, and Terrance Anthony “Terry” Tallent of Dalton, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Cherrie Tallent Dodd and Greg Dodd of Calhoun, GA; her brothers, J.L. Tilley of Madisonville, TN, and Allen Kirkland of Vonore, TN; her grandchildren and their spouses, Blake and Tristan Tallent of Dalton, GA, Olivia Dodd of Calhoun, GA, Gregory and Shannon Dodd of Calhoun, GA, Emily and Justin Young of Calhoun, GA, Eathon Dodd of Calhoun, GA, and Camren and Madelyn Dodd of Calhoun, GA; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Tallent and Lucas Tallent; her dear friend, Shirley Hamrick of Tunnel Hill, GA; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws also survive.

Per her request, no public services are planned at this time.
