Bertie Hayes, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at AdventHealth Murray.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Oscar "Bill" Hayes Jr.; father, James Willard Mulkey; mother, Elzie Mae Woody Mulkey; son, Donnie Hayes; daughter, Rita Hudgins; brothers, Charles, Eugene, and Leroy Mulkey; and sisters, Geneva Pace and Anna Lee Stone.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rhonda Hayes of Chatsworth, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hayes will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the New Zion Hill Cemetery in Dalton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 am until the funeral begins at 12:00 pm.
