Mrs. Barbara Sue Groce, age 80, of Rocky Face, GA.

Our precious wife, mom, and nana passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is now in Heaven with her Savior where we will reunite with her someday.

She took great pride in her family and instilled great strength in every one of us.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, her 2 daughters, her 2 grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter were her life. She served the public in her job-working in public accounting for James Anderson and David Barbaree, and the banking industry prior to that.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ann Cates; sister, Peggy A. Holmes.

Survivors include her loving husband, Roy L. Groce, Jr. of Rocky Face, GA; daughters, Babs Bailey of Rocky Face, GA and Laura Groce of Rocky Face, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Jo Cates of LaFayette, GA; sisters, Janice Dowdy of LaFayette, GA and Jeanette Daniel of LaFayette, GA; grandchildren, Sarah (Nich) Adams of Dahlonega, GA and Joshua (Caylee) Bailey of Statham, GA; great-granddaughter, Zelda Adams; special friend, Tony M. Burns; beloved pet, Briar; extended family also survives.

Barbara was a quiet, gentle lady whose peaceful spirit filled and lit up the room. She never had anything bad to say about anyone, and looked for the good in everyone. As part of her quiet and unassuming nature, she wanted to be cremated and not have a public funeral or memorial service.
